2014 12 26 – Big Eyes, Into the Woods, The Gambler, Unbroken

This holiday weekend we have four openings.

IT WOULD BE MEGA COOL, IF AMY ADAMS LANDED A ROLE IN THE NEXT RESIDENT EVIL INSTALLMENT -- AS A CO-LEAD TO MILLA JOVOVICH

This movie, Big Eyes, is a drama PG-13 movie, from Weinstein.

Life is about growth. About change. Experiencing different situations, with different people, with different outcomes. Putting oneself out of a comfort zone. Discovering hidden talents and strengths. We all know Amy Adams is a sweet person, who stands firm even in the face of Superman.

But what is Amy Adams like, I mean -- really like? I sense from her a strong feeling of being framed, living in one and the same picture. Repeating the same thing over and over and over. Ms. Adams, it's time to change. Just like you said no to your husband in this movie (I assume), you need to say no to another sweet Jane role. It's time to kick some zombie asses.

I'M BUYING THIS IDEA, ONLY IF IT'S THE NEXT ITERATION OF TV SHOWS FEATURING SINGING STARS

This movie, Into the Woods, is a musical PG movie, from Disney.

It's much better than Idol or any other singing TV show. This is the proof that putting even a tiny piece of storytelling may transform a collection of silly attempts into watchable 90 minutes of popcorn entertainment.

The same applies for dancing shows -- stars should train for an actual performance, not just pointlessly polish dance rooms' floors.

I UNDERSTAND GETTING JESSE EISENBERG FOR THE LEAD WAS TOO EXPENSIVE, BUT MARK WAHLBERG PROBABLY SPENT THE EXACT DIFFERENCE GETTING AWAY OF HIS MUSCLES

This movie, The Gambler, is a drama R movie, from Paramount.

As a character, Wahlberg's guy doesn't punch anybody too hard, sits at the bus stop with a bunch of olderly ladies, then whines about his totally harmless addiction to sitting in casinos with his hands on the table. If you don't see anything interesting in it, you are probably smarter than any movie producer that funded this movie. Good luck getting DVDs of this movie out of shops' shelves.

TONY STARK IS THE GREATEST PERSONIFICATION OF THE PHOENIX METAPHOR, SO PLEASE, STOP DOING SIMILAR MOVIES

This movie, Unbroken, is a drama PG-13 movie, from Universal.

A great guy gets captured. He survives imprisonment. He comes out as a hero.

We got this in the Iron Man trilogy.

Move on, Hollywood. WWII is getting boring.

Beside, if this movie does good in theaters, it will be a slight insult to Brad Pitt, because his war Fury came a bit short in terms of box office money.
